Position: Baggage Handler
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (Full-Time)
DHL Supply Chain is currently working towards the implementation of an exciting new business win with easyJet airlines at Gatwick Airport. This is the first transformational contract in Ground Handling Services for DHL but DHL is no stranger to Airline Services.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Responsible for loading and unloading passenger baggage to and from the aircraft
Use of behind the scenes baggage systems and machines
Transferring luggage from check-in areas to departure areas
Sorting and labelling of baggage for the correct flight
Moving luggage to and from aircraft holds using trucks, cargo loaders and conveyor systems
Loading luggage onto conveyors in the arrivals hall
Ensuring that passenger's luggage is stored safely and securely and delivered in good time to reach its final destination
Reporting baggage that's damaged or suspicious
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Must be physically fit.
You must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions
Have good communication skills
Must be able to work to deadlines
The ability to work quickly
The ability to follow loading instructions and pay close attention to detail
Practical skills to work with conveyors and lifting equipment
Must be flexible
Previous experience of loading and unloading would be an advantage (but not essential)
The role could involve meeting & greeting passengers when collecting baggage so it is essential that you have strong customer service skills and a positive outlook.

You must provide 5 years address history
You must provide 5 years reference history (employment/education/benefit claim/character)
Hold a valid [and in-date] ID (British or EU Passport, British Driving Licence, Non-EU Passport & Visa)
No criminal convictions
