To manage all compliance aspects of Waste services delivered to OCS customers, ensuring that legislative requirements are met and upheld at all times. Working to ensure that customers are provided with all relevant waste transfer and disposal certificates and notifications in order to remain compliant to environmental legislation for the disposal of all types of Waste.

Work proactively with vendors to drive improvement proposals for customers to manage waste disposal activities more efficiently and more cost effectively, contributing to both the customers and OCS' CSR profile.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collating and managing the vendor waste transfer note process ensuring that all documentation is compliant with current legislation
  • Managing OCS waste transfer note process ensuring that all customers receive accurate and timely documentation compliant with current legislation
  • Producing and managing EWC reports for customers ensuring that all information maintained and communicated represents current service delivery agreements
  • Conducting ad-hoc vendor site inspections to ensure that vendors are compliant with waste disposal in accordance with environmental legislation
  • Reviewing risk assessments provided by vendors ensuring that risks are mitigated and managed with the customers
  • Working closely with vendors to determine and produce proposals for increasing efficiency of waste disposal and/or reducing costs
  • Keeping up to date with waste disposal regulations and environmental legislative changes in order to ensure service delivery to customers is not compromised by non-compliance

Experience required:


  • Must have a good standard of education to at least GCSE A-C Level including English and Maths OR demonstrate equivalent skills and ability

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Waste industry experience
  • Environmental compliance and legislation experience desirable
  • SAP Experience Desirable
  • Excel Skills Essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to understand complex legislative requirements and translate into working methods and practices
  • Ability to appraise situations quickly and react accordingly, taking into account fluctuation in workloads and deadlines
  • Ability to accurately check own and others work
