A Customer Support Engineer with experience first tier automotive role and electronics manufacturing is required for a contract employment opportunity with a leading international automotive company based in Peterlee. The role is offering an hourly rate of £28 per hour Ltd Co based on experience and is a 6 month contract initially, with the potential to renew. The Company Our client is a leading automotive technology company that specialises in the design and manufacture of complex, mechatronic, advanced vehicle safety systems. Key Responsibilities - Development and implementation of improvement activities to reduce; Customer PPM, Warranty costs, internal PPM and improve APQP process. - On receipt of concern, log, track, implement and verify the permanent corrective action, including the completion of the G8D report. Monitoring all deadlines. - Monitoring of customer portals to ensure updates are made according to required timelines. - Customer liaison regarding customer site visits, process and product audits and customer requirements and concerns. - Ensure APQP requirements are fulfilled for new projects covering all quality aspects. - Ensure customer requirements are monitored / tracked and built into the project and business - Process flow charts, PFMEA, Process Capability Planning (support engineering with the creation and implementation of the tasks). - Process Quality Control Plans (Prototype, Pre-Launch, and SOP) - Measurement systems analysis plan and preliminary process capability plan - Ensuring effective consideration is given to mistake proofing throughout project. - Develop safe launch plan for new product introduction ensuring Dual Launch Netting. - Including monitoring of the data produced and close out of issues raised as required. - Ensure PPAP requirements for new projects, design changed products and line transfers are fulfilled in accordance with customer and TS 16949 requirements - Customer product interface with production, feedback of any changes, concerns. - Support SQA function regarding quality of supplied parts. - Support continuous improvement of product and process quality. - Exercise high standards of H & S at all times, including Environmental Safety Awareness Skills / Experience Required - Education / Qualifications Required: - HNC in electrical / mechanical engineering discipline - Experience Required: - Two years experience in a similar first tier automotive role - Two years electronics manufacturing experience - Skills Required: - Methodical approach to problem solving - Report writing and presentation skills for both internal and external customer - Highly motivated How to Apply If you are interested in this position please APPLY NOW or for further information you can contact James Laver on ************ or email ***************************.
