What does the role involve day to day?
We have a fantastic fixed term opportunity for a Data Mining Analyst to join the team.

In this role you will provide data, information and guidance to the Government sponsors of SLC and their partner organisations such as the funding councils and the Audit Offices. The information is very important for their profiling and modelling of student finance expenditure and repayments. Some of the information can be produced in a straightforward manner using Microstrategy against the Data Warehouse but a significant part of the work involves complex design and scripting using SQL.

What we are looking for
Essential: SQL, PL/SQ
Essential: Previous experience in data analysis
Essential: Appreciation of information security controls (security classifications, data protection, disclosure control)
Essential: Demonstrate a proven ability to solve complex business processes through a numerate, analytical approach to problem solving
Desirable: Understanding of different data models (relational, star schema)
Desirable: Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Microstrategy)
Desirable: MS Excel, MS Access
Desirable: Reputation awareness (for information put into the public domain)Essential: A Higher Education qualification in a computer related discipline or a minimum of three years relevant experience within an Information delivery or ICT role
