Salary: £22,416 - £35,763
Hours: 35 per week

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

Using Pupil Equity Funding, Ferryhill Primary School will be undertaking a range of initiatives to overtake barriers to learning and promote achievement for all. This Support for Learning Teacher post is an additional teacher who will support children and their families to reduce barriers to learning. These barriers may be a result of something within the school or externally. The Support for Learning Teacher will work alongside the Principal Teacher Additional Support Needs. Key tasks will include the building of good working relationships with pupils, providing consistent support and promoting inclusion for all and planning and delivering parental support groups. The successful candidate will play a lead role in working alongside the senior leadership team, classroom teachers and Pupil Support Assistants as we further develop the place of nurture groups within our overall plan to enhance pupil and family support.

This post may be available as a secondment if applicants have the approval of their Head Teacher for an early release from their current post.

This post is considered regulated work with vulnerable children and/or Protected Adults under the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by City of Edinburgh Council.
