SQL Server, TSQL DBA, Database Developer - Manchester, Cheshire is required to be a member of the database and development team, responsible for database aspects of application and report development, including supporting tools. The DBA role also involves database administration including management, optimisation, availability management, disaster recovery, ad-hoc data queries and manipulation, and database design plus collaborating with other team members, including code review and input to technical discussions will be expected along with documentation production. Inspired Recruitment is pleased to offer this fantastic role on behalf of our client, who are currently seeking to recruit a Database Developer who will be based in Manchester/Cheshire, UK on a Permanent basis. Candidates should have the following skills: -Database development/administration expertise in a commercial environment including: -A sound knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including T-SQL, replication, DR, SSIS, SSRS -Understanding of indexing, performance tuning and query optimization -Database security -Eager to learn new skills and technologies -Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, plus a team player -Proactive approach to problem management -An awareness of database development best practice and standards - Responsibilities: -Maintain current knowledge in areas of database development, documentation, security and hardware -Accurately estimate and measure tasks -Carry out database development, according to specification, and in line with development/coding standards -Database tasks in line with the company's core value of "Always Quality Driven" -Testing and assist the QA team in testing -Database maintenance in response to testing feedback and ad-hoc business requests -Share information effectively with other technical staff and project teams -Understand and analyze requirements, seeking clarification as necessary -Communicate problems appropriately and in a timely manner -Identify and consult subject matter experts as required -Seek appropriate guidance when making architectural decisions -Help maintain a culture of learning and creativity -Create clear documentation, guides and commented code -Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions - Efficiently manage workload, according to defined processes and procedures -Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in applications development.
