Senior Developer, Digital Services
We are looking for experienced Senior Developers to join our new Digital Services team to deliver a diverse and successful portfolio of projects.
So, if you would thrive in a role that allowed you to use you knowledge to provide advice and recommendations on the use of standards, methods and tools for software development within Department for Transport, then we want to hear from you.
The role will provide a varied and interesting workload, with the opportunity to input your own knowledge, experience and ideas into the design and implementation of a new software development service. Guiding the way in which the team works, you will support with professional development activities, providing technical leadership and promoting adoption of best practice.
Your key priorities will include:
- Leading the technical design, development and delivery.
- Managing a joined-up team of software developers that are allocated to software development projects.
- Facilitating and optimum utilisation of resources, especially in agile projects.
You are highly organised and you understand the need to adapt as priorities change in line with business need. You are a natural leader and enjoy working as part of a wider team, you encourage the development of others, ensuring your team have the necessary tools and training to encourage them to work independently, you share your own knowledge to build that of the team. You have a genuine passion for software delivery and keep up to date with the latest news and technology.
