Role : Training Product Manager Location: Bedford Reports to: Manager of School Improvement and Training Services, ESS Job purpose: The Training Product Manager role is key in ensuring that the training materials and services related to SIMS software developments, technical developments and school improvement are fit for purpose and support our customers' needs now and in the future. Training Product Managers work closely with colleagues across the business to develop a thorough understanding of our customers and the challenges they face. Colleagues include the consultants who deliver our training and services, those in SIMS software, Marketing, Operations, Publications, Customer Service and Sales. About Capita | Capita Education Services Capita SIMS Independent provides Management Information Solutions for UK and International Schools. As a Consultant within our Professional Services Team you will be responsible for the delivery of SIMS training and consultancy across areas including admissions, registration, finance and payroll, timetabling and assessment Key Objectives - To provide knowledge and skills of the education sector to enhance the development of role-based training for schools - To develop strong working relationships with other colleagues in order to translate software development into effective training - To ensure that the product lifecycle is managed effectively for those products in the portfolio the Training Product Manager is responsible for delivering Main Responsibilities: - Monitoring and maintaining existing training materials and a wide range of services, including technical, for SIMS Support Units and schools - Developing and publicising new training materials and services that support leaders, teachers and operational staff in schools, including changes in educational initiatives and changes to software functionality in SIMS - Contributing to the development of a blended delivery of training delivery within the quality standards - Developing web and paper based marketing collateral to ensure that it represents key messages to promote specific products and services - Attending events, both internal and external Key Competencies Results focused - Ability to work under own initiative and to be methodical in carrying out work - Flexibility, coping well with unpredicted changes and staying calm under pressure to get the job done - Excellent problem solving skills. Team working - Providing administrative support to the Manager of School Improvement and Training and other Product Managers - Contributing to the work of the team and the business as a whole. Customer care - Effectively manage own workload to ensure customers' needs are met Performance management - Take ownership for own actions accepting the associated risk - Strong focus on quality, continually seeking to improve - Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of business processes whilst enhancing personal skills. Communication - Ability to contribute at meetings - Liaising effectively with teams across the Services Division and the wider business - Gaining information from across the business to achieve results Attributes of the Role Essential - Experience within an educational environment, e.g. teacher, middle leader, school CPD co-ordinator - General knowledge of the current educational landscape in the UK - Excellent writing and presentation skills Desirable - Sound knowledge of SIMS software across a range of modules - Good understanding of the use of e-learning to deliver training What's in it for you?
