Test Engineer - Nottingham We are working with an amazing new client in Nottingham. Due to rapid growth they need a strong automation test engineer or QA tester to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, cross-functional Scrum team with an innovative and forward thinking approach and be involved with the development of new systems and creating the next generation of their products. They are looking for someone who is not only capable of automating the software testing function for the team, but will also lead the QA process, challenging the team to improve quality at all stages of development. It's a role where you really will make an impact and be able to see tangible results. Main areas of responsibility will include: * Leading the design, development and implementation of software testing frameworks, * Quality evangelist, driving a whole-team approach to improve the development process They work in an Agile (Scrum) environment, using JIRA for co-ordinating the Sprints. Their current technology stack is essentially .NET and C# with Jenkins/Bitbucket for CI and current automated testing based in Selenium and C# Characteristics * Proactive and able to take the initiative * Results driven and determined * Self-disciplined * Fast learner with an interest in technology * Likes to work in a fast-paced environment Qualifications & experience Essential * Excellent knowledge of Selenium and C# to automate tests * Experience testing technical (data analysis) applications including verification of the analysis itself * Good knowledge of MySQL and ability to query databases to validate the contents * Experience of developing automated testing frameworks for Web applications & APIs intended to work across both mobile and desktop platforms * Preparation of test plans from scratch and experience in ensuring they are carried through to completion * Strong understanding of QA methodologies and software development lifecycle * Experience testing in an agile team, ideally Scrum * Ability to work as the sole (dedicated) tester in a Scrum team * Able to stay ahead of the curve with new and emerging technologies * Experience with version-control systems (ideally GIT/Bitbucket) * Computing, Engineering or Science Degree Highly Desirable * Testing of web applications for desktop and mobile across multiple browsers and OS. * Ability to coach development team to improve their understanding of and contribution to QA, including assisting them with the introduction of appropriate development methodologies * Ability to work with key owners and stakeholders to understand the requirements to be tested * Experience of BDD / Cucumber * Experience in assisting with story generation to ensure that acceptance criteria are testable * Experience of maintaining multiple server based test environments including use of virtual machines
