Head of Engineering - Operations and Maintenance BPS World have been retained by one of the UK`s leading renewable energy and waste management companies. The business is undergoing a period of change and growth and as such are seeking a talented Head of Engineering to manage their fleet of Energy from Waste plants. Primarily you will be responsible for the monitoring and verification of the safe maintenance and operation of the Group`s power generation plants, by the respective outsourced O&M contractors, in line with the agreed performance requirements of the relevant contractual arrangements. Therefore it is likely to suit an experienced engineering or plant manager with considerable experience of commissioning or O&M within a process plant environment. This will include Energy from Waste plants The role will offer a variety of challenges however your key responsibilities are likely to - Manage the monitoring and verification of the operation and maintenance contracts carried out on the Group`s power generation assets. - Safety of plant operation and maintenance regimes - Plant availability and generation review - Analysis of common issues across the fleet - Management of best practice reviews and knowledge transfer across fleet - Asset maintenance and protection review - Development of asset maintenance policy - Assessment and audit of maintenance regimes deployed against policy requirements - Annual asset performance reviews - Verification of O&M contractor performance - Annual maintenance budget development and review - Lifecycle cost analysis - Setting of annual performance targets - Review of planned maintenance records and quality of maintenance activities - Review of Contractor staff qualifications and training records - Analysis and commentary on operational management reports - Manage and coordinate critical spares policy and inventory control across the plant fleet - Contribute to strategic decisions involving asset protection and maintenance policies. - Support new facility design review processes - Manage technical interfaces with insurer`s engineers for asset surveys and loss prevention system reviews. - Support asset facility safety and condition surveys In return our client offers a flexible working environment with excellent opportunities for progression.
