Harvey Nash is exclusively partnered with a thriving software house whom have recently secured their first premises in Scotland. Based in central Edinburgh, they are in the process of now building out their entire Scottish capability to supplement the success they have enjoyed so far elsewhere in the UK. Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to work in their Edinburgh office. You will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and liaise with other departments as well as accounts support staff on a daily basis. Main duties include: * Assist the CFO in preparing reports for presentation to senior management, the Board of Directors, the Finance Committee and shareholders. * Assist in the preparation of the annual Business Plan, preparing the supporting P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow projections. * Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities. * Prepare monthly management accounts and quarterly financial forecasts. * Prepare a rolling cash flow forecast by tracking transactions. * Manage and keep up-to-date the company secretarial records and share option schemes. * Manage and liaise with accounts support staff, ensuring a smooth flow of information and deliverables. * Manage reporting deadlines for internal and external deliverables. * Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported. * Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies * Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations Qualifications and experience required: * Must hold current ACA or ACCA qualification. * Must hold minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience, ideally consisting of a mix of experience within both an accountancy practice and a trading company's finance department. * Ideally, you will have experience of working in the technology sector. This is something completely new to the Edinburgh scene and is sure to turn a number of heads within our technical community. You'll be part of something a bit different and most definitely being given the chance to upskill.
