As Senior Web Developer you will work closely with our talented IT, design and content teams to help us transform Birmingham City University’s web platform, supporting the way we tell our exciting story and ensuring we provide prospective students with the most relevant and personalised experience possible.

What you’ll be doing

Your development skills will enable us to offer prospective students a best in class experience as we look to overhaul the information architecture and functionality of the platform, whilst also focussing on technical improvements to SEO. You will proactively develop the University’s web presence via back end web based software solutions and by supporting the day-to-day technical maintenance of the external site.

What we’re looking for

Reporting to the Head of Campaigns and Digital, you will be familiar with selecting the appropriate design standards, methods and tools, and have a strong awareness of standards for programming tools and techniques associated with the software development process. You will also have a keen interest in UI, ensuring that our web platforms are optimised for conversion.

You should have considerable experience with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET API, , ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Razor, HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery. Experience with MS SQL Server, Entity Framework, Visual Studio Team Service (or TFS), Git and NuGet would also be highly desirable.

The role benefits from a competitive salary of £37,966 - £49,520 depending on skills and experience, 32 days annual leave, 8 bank holidays and a generous ‘average salary’ pension scheme.
