As an Infrastructure Architect you'll play a lead role in the delivery of projects and programmes driving our IT strategic change. You'll be a key contributor to the design and implementation of the solution ensuring that IT systems meet the required high standards in the areas of non-functional requirements particularly storage, availability, capacity, performance, security and BCP. You'll be responsible for delivering infrastructure designs and technical specifications from an Enterprise standpoint for our Retail channel. You'll contribute towards our Core Technology and Cloud roadmaps by ensuring that all IS systems meet the needs of our evolving business. Working with our simplification and automation strategies will to help move us towards our internal William Hill Cloud infrastructure vision.

We need you to bring us extensive experience in delivering infrastructures for customer facing, e-commerce architectural roles within major organisations that are fast moving and dynamic. Ideally you'll have worked in an Online, 24x7 business where high levels of availability are key to provide customer satisfaction.

Ideally you have in-depth technical knowledge of the following areas:

· Virtualization technologies (VMware ESX,) Network and load balancing technologies (Cisco, Cisco ACE,) Defence and traffic management (F5 / Brocade vTM, Stingrays ADC's)

· SSL handling, IPAM & DNS (Infoblox,) LDAP / Active Directory, Traditional RDBMS (Oracle / Oracle RAC

· Strong understanding of PCI/DSS compliance requirements for protection of cardholder data.

· Use and maintenance of configuration and version control (Puppet / Git)

· Extensive experience in building & deploying frontend customer facing infrastructures for supporting webservices across multiple DC's.

The following would be advantageous

· Knowledge and/or experience in noSQL databases advantageous (Cassandra / MongoDB)

· Strong experience of infrastructure automation, virtualisation technologies & internal and external hosted cloud technologies would be advantageous.
