Head of Applications and Business Solutions Application Architecture / Leadership / Digital Architecture / Governance / Standards La Fosse Associates are operating in the capacity of exclusive recruitment partner for Camden, Haringey and Islington councils as they embark on an exciting Shared Digital journey. Introduction Camden, Haringey and Islington councils have created a shared digital and ICT service. Their decision to share a digital and ICT service will enhance their services to residents and save costs. More importantly, the shared service will deliver an ambitious programme of change and transformation, saving over £6 million a year across the three boroughs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly created senior leadership team where you will shape the future of IT across the 3 boroughs and their 700,000+ constituents. Role Purpose The Head of Applications and Business Solutions will have responsibility for leadership and management of the following: - Application Management - Data and Insight - Digital Development - Digital Design and Research You will cover three main team domains both from a strategic perspective as well as line management responsibilities: Data, Applications and Development, with responsibility for ensuring the overall IT Strategy and vision is being delivered by the technical teams. You will work closely with the Business Partners as well as key technical and non-technical stakeholders across the three councils, and will be responsible for managing demand and ensuring adequate resources on programmes of work. Working with the IT leadership team you will also look at the broader application landscape and Architecture with a focus on rationalisation and simplification across the enterprise. In addition, you will also be driving the Data and Analytics strategy and being a proponent for the value this can add to the council. Role requirements - Demonstrable leadership experience including line management of teams with a clear ability to motivate large teams driving innovation and change. - A depth of commercial experience and proven project management skills with a good knowledge of policy framework, management structures and reporting procedures for all aspects of the software development environment and related activities. - Architecture knowledge and exposure through the full SDLC, with in depth experience in at least one of the following domains: data and analytics, application and development. - Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills. - Familiar with requirements for IT products and services and negotiation and rationalisation of contracts. - Educated to a Bachelor degree level or equivalent.
