Rapid expanding Internet & Software Business is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer, to join its office in Oxford. Currently initiating a large number of platforms that involve cutting-edge technology delivery and innovation. The business is now expanding their DevOps Function and looking to make multiple hires within the next 6 months. You will be part of a growing network of technical and delivery experts. Who design and implement the continuous delivery platforms, to design and build IT systems for a broad range of clients. The following skills are required. However, the company will not expect you to have outstanding experience within each category, and will help to provide daily support in areas of; - Good knowledge and experience working with cloud-based environments such as GCP or AWS, and OpenStack experience is a plus. - Experience of networks, security, load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components. - Experience with on premise deployment on Windows Servers. LAMP infrastructure is a plus. Desirable Skills; - Experience with container-based infrastructure, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code platforms is a must. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Chef/Puppet/Ansible, Jenkins, New Relic are examples of platforms that you will have worked with. - Creation of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation is a key responsibility. How your working day will look; - Being responsible for overseeing external and cloud infrastructure as well as enterprise deployments for Windows/IIS and Linux/Apache environments. - Contributing to the continuous Delivery Pipelines and automated Platform-as-a-Service Applications. Supporting continuously improving delivery pipelines for example speeding up the execution of automated test suites. - Automated provisioning of tooling and middleware using infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containers, cloud etc. - Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and supporting applications from source code through to running systems. - Working with open source and proprietary delivery tools, from collaboration tools such as Jira, through orchestration such as Jenkins, through infrastructure tools such as Docker, and then through monitoring and log aggregation tools. - To work as part of a team to ensure 24/7 managed services availability for strategic customers. This will be achieved by being part of a team that covers the out of hours support rota. - To ensure that Managed Services Service Level Agreements are met and wherever possible exceeded. - To identify any enhancements and suggestions for improvement that could be included in the products or the products integration. - Ensure any issues are logged and that escalation procedures are followed, as documented. - Receive, review and perform Go-Live requests in accordance with documented procedures. - Receive, review and perform Requests for Change as per Change Management Procedure. - To promote consistent and good working practices, making suggestions for improvement wherever possible.
