Role: Cloud Architect - Leeds Package: £60-75K & Comprehensive Benefits package Role type: Permanent Working within our clients Leeds Office we have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud architect to be responsible for the development of IT strategy, solutions architecture and implementation of public cloud technologies to complement existing private / hybrid cloud environments. Duties: - Provide senior technical capability to review and consolidate existing IT / cloud strategies. - Lead technical infrastructure teams on journey to public / hybrid cloud and promote benefits including training / mentoring engineering teams. - Carry out design reviews of existing hosted application environments and provide design recommendations to enhance cost efficiency, performance and value by leveraging public cloud infrastructure. - Work alongside infrastructure and application development teams to design, build and execute proof of concept exercises for these and other enhancements. - Carry out design reviews of existing corporate infrastructure and associated services to enhance cost efficiency, performance, agility and value, incorporating public cloud where appropriate. - Provide pre-sales technical input and leadership to bids, tenders and quotations. - Design, build and implement management infrastructure to support public cloud environments. Key Skills: - Advanced technical knowledge of both public and private Cloud hosted and remotely administered environments and infrastructure. - Ability to provide expert technical advice and act as technical lead across multiple technologies including both high level architectural design and "hands-on" implementation duties. - Ability to engage with technical and business stakeholders across all levels of seniority. - Proven experience in private and public cloud technical architecture and designing customer and / or in-house solutions including, but not limited to, the following technologies / concepts - Microsoft, VMware, Azure, Citrix, SAN, High Availability, Disaster Recovery. - Excellent knowledge of application presentation principles - IIS, Published Desktop and integration with Azure, O365. - Excellent working knowledge of information security principles. - Excellent knowledge of infrastructure management toolsets across public / private cloud - backup, monitoring, reporting, patching. - Understanding commercial impact of design decisions and ensuring design is aligned with business requirements. - Pragmatic approach to problem solving and troubleshooting from both a technical and commercial viewpoint. - Excellent presentation, documentation and communication skills. - Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 Active Directory Infrastructure Services. - Microsoft Application Servers (i.e. Exchange 2007+, Lync 2010+, SharePoint 2007+, SQL Server 2008 R2+) - Experience of PSN / N3 / IL2 / IL3 working experience. - Experience of Unix/Linux. - Experience of CommVault backup technologies. - Experience of Compellent, Tintri, Nimble & NetApp SAN technologies.
