The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below for this 6 month temporary contract, which is home based. The successful candidate will have a valid CTC Clearance or be willing tohave one sponsored by the client. If you do not possess the clearance levelrequested then you must be willing to apply for a Disclosure of Scotland on CVsubmission. Please Note: This assignment sits inside of IR35.
This role will provide support to the Category Manager and Head Of Procurement to deliver special projects, estates or IT procurement categories related requirements. The role will be ‘Home Based’ but with significant travel expected to the College’s main sites in London, Harrogate, Coventry and Durham. Home based c.50% travel across main College locations London, Durham, Coventry and Harrogate
Job Description:Assessing the existing commercial landscape and looking at the impact on programme delivery. Designing and implementing approaches which ensure effective delivery of the right outcome for the department. Leading on supplier integration with regards to relationship and cost impact upon the department. Clarifying the ability to terminate current contracts, working with programme finance leads to understand impact and realisation of any potential benefits. The ability to renegotiate existing contracts. Managing the impact of existing commercial financial models. Acting as primary point of contact between the incumbent supplier(s) and the department.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:1. Provide professional Procurement advice to support a number of strategic College projects/Estates/IT Procurement category 2. Improve procurement engagement with the wider business 3. Documentation of key policies/processes across Procurement process.
Experience Required:ESSENTIAL 1. Experience of working in a procurement environment in the public sector. 2. Experience of detailing and changing procurement processes 3. Experience of procurement to support either IT or Estates procurement categories, and/or providing procurement support in a project environment.
DESIRABLE 1. Experience of working in a police force environment 2. Experience of working in a procurement environment in Central Government
