One of our largest clients is currently going through the largest digital transformation project in the world and are looking for an Agile Java Developer with Java 8, Spring Boot, Microservices, MongoDB, AWS, TDD, BDD, Paired Programming, and a pragmatic approach to software engineering. As an Agile Java Developer, you will be joining a highly skilled team of Agile Java Developers who are at the top of their game and you will play a key part in defining the architecture of the new digital projects, having the ability to put your ideas and thoughts to the table. You will be working in fast spaced environment with the latest technologies and an industry leading project that is recognised across the industry. - Skills / Experience - Web development on the JVM using Java and Groovy - Grunt or Gulp build tool and IntelliJ ID - Technologies such as Java 8, Spring Boot, Microservices - - Strong fluency in the SOLID principles, Domain Driven Design and Refactoring techniques - Web service development using frameworks such as Dropwizard, Scalatra, Hysterix or similar - MVC framework experience with Play! or similar - Fluency with "git" source control tool. - Front end development skill including HTML5, CSS and JavaScript - Instrumentation of web applications for fine-grained monitoring using New Relic or similar - Agile experience with Scrum/Kanban/XP - Experience with agile engineering practices such as TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration, automated testing and deployment - A positive, constructive approach with an emphasis on collaboration and good execution Key Tasks - Work as part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional, agile product development team to develop a responsive web application. - Web application development in Java and front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript - Building a nimble, cloud-based JVM distributed architecture - Integrate with wider enterprise systems using service oriented architecture - Develop automated tests - Peer review other developers' code - Work with Product Managers and QA to ensure software is high quality and meets user requirements - Produce any necessary documentation - Help to grow the London teams by assisting with the recruitment of other developers and team members - Support the live site as required If you have all of the outlined experience, this is an amazing opportunity to work on an industry leading project with some of the best engineers in the country
