Based in Central London, the IT Manager will be responsible for administration and management of IT Services as well as identifying and improving business systems needs and objectives. You will successfully deliver services to support the enterprise's strategy systems and networks installed in the London branch with full compliance with Group IT, security, operations and policies. Client Details Our Client is an International bank with offices around the world. Based in Central London, the UK office has around 50 users looking after corporate banking for the UK residents. Although the majority of IT is managed from the HQ overseas, this role will lead a team of 3 and provide stability and direction for the IT environment locally. Description As the IT Manager, you will lead and manage the day to day activities within the IT data centre for the London office. You will be responsible for the smooth operations of systems, networks and reporting cycles. Key responsibilities include: - Install, Monitor and manage all servers and hardware on the network both principal and back up systems. - Ensure implementation is based on standards and policies for data and systems security of the Group's enterprise network. - Work closely with Group IT security and manage network and IT security for UK IT infrastructure. Ensure patching are up-to-date and all security updates are kept up-to-date for UK IT systems including PCs. - Ensure penetration testing is completed with help of Group IT security and all action points are completed and maintained. - Establish vendor schedule to ensure proper coverage and support for systems. - Ensure backup DR readiness at the country level and at head office level and conduct rehearsals. Update DR plan. - Responsible at DR site for bringing up applications, connecting all branches, monitoring, running EOD, starting normal replication and activate VPN concentrator. - Monitor the SLA level performance and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. - Manage Hyper V and related system for managing virtual servers - Dispatch all incoming messages to all the concerned departments and maintain archives of all messages. - Configure all IT hardware following H.O. specifications. - Maintain all external storage and media inventory. - Supervise IT vendors responsible for maintaining and supporting IT systems and networks. - Collaborate with architects, analysts and designers in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications. - Interact regularly with managers and business partners to field queries and questions. - Train, manage and provide guidance to users. - Work independently within own unit and will be required to supervise IT Coordinators/System Admin employees to maintain the systems in international projects. - Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the compliance functions as and when required. - Develop yearly budget for I.T. and project plan. - Profile The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Telecommunications or a related technical field as well as a minimum of 4-6 years hands on technical experience in the field of IT. You will have: - Demonstrate a successful track record of managing large scale infrastructure, ideally within a financial institution - Possess technical expertise in IT infrastructure and applications, including networks, virtualised server environments, Linux, databases, web applications, Microsoft desktop, and enterprise applications. This will be a hands on role so you will be expected to be technical in your most recent roles. - A sound understanding of IT Security and experience managing network and IT security for UK Infrastructure. - Have a minimum of 5 years experience leading an IT team to achieve specific targets and objectives, with proven excellent communication, organisational and team leadership skills. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Time management skills and ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
