A leading global International software house, specialising in, data security and encryption services are seeking a Technical Operations Engineer based in London to join its expanding team. The company's services are designed to protect shared information for both public and private Sector customers. You will be working as part of a team that provides 24/7 cover to ensure that customers have constant access to services and ensuring that these scale with the business and its global growth. As the Technical Operations Engineer, your duties will be to: - Install and configure ubuntu and Centos (or Redhat) Linux. - Troubleshoot performance issues (investigate CPU, memory, disk resource issues and - application issues). - Follow change management and understand operational best practice processes. - Patch operating system and applications. - Troubleshoot application issues (e.g. know which logs files to look at and investigate what the error means). - Understand network routing and troubleshooting from a server perspective. - Basic scripting (e.g. Bash - understanding what a script is doing / modifications). To be a successful Technical Operations Engineer you will have the following skills and experience: - MySQL (MariaDB). - EXIM. - Postfix. - Dovecot. - Zabbix. - Advance scripting/basic coding (e.g. Perl/PHP). - Experience of working in a commercial client / supplier project-based environment (e.g. system integration or technical managed services background). - Must have experience maintaining infrastructure and core switching. - Experience of Azure and/or AWS. - Barracuda and/or Cisco ASA firewalls. - Vetting to the SC (Security Cleared) level, therefore, any candidate must have been the UK - a resident for the past 5 years. Normal working hours are between 9am and 5:30pm although flexibility is required and expected. In return, the Technical Operations Engineer will receive a salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE) plus 25 days annual leave, plus associated benefits.
