My client are a spread betting company with a need in their London offices. In terms of the background and actual perpose of the role, you will need to ensure availability, security, performance and manageability for all areas related to Windows, Servers and Storage. Key responsibilities and activities: - Undertake and manage key Windows, server and storage projects in line with department priorities - Provide expert assistance to other teams both inside and outside of IT to meet business requirements - Work with vendors, application owners and users as needed to investigate and resolve in-depth technical issues - Produce and maintain repeatable secure configurations and monitor compliance in areas such as Active Directory, Fileservers and SCCM - Actively work to maintain and improve the IT Infrastructure environment - Manage BAU workload of service requests, problems, incidents and changes - Increase process efficiency through automation and standardization - Provide regular communication to management regarding system availability, capacity and performance, operational issues and planned works - Produce and maintain appropriate documentation and conduct handovers for operational support - Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role - Ensure a positive approach to challenges and provide open and honest feedback - In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department - Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality and security Essential: - Enterprise scale expertise of Windows Server OS - Active Directory services - Windows file servers - Microsoft System Center - VMware vSphere - Scripting and automation Desirable: - Enterprise scale expertise of Redhat Linux OS. - HPE servers, blades, virtual connect, Oneview - HPE 3PAR storage - Brocade SAN - Microsoft MCSE and/or Redhat RHCE certification - F5 technologies - Hitachi Storage Systems or comparable enterprise arrays
