Our client, an innovative and exciting banking and finance organization based in The City, London is looking to add to their integration team with a server-side Java Developer who possesses solid knowledge and experience working with the Spring Framework. This role sits in the Risk and Finance IT Technology Team, you will be carrying out new development projects, whilst also supporting and maintaining existing Risk & Finance owned systems, integration feeds and file transfers - this role is heavy around risk, messaging and integration, but all three can be learned on the job - it's the Java, J2EE and Spring skills that we need right now. You DO NOT need to come from a banking and finance background, although this would be a bonus. 'Essential' skills: - Min 3 years development using server-side Java (7+ required) and J2EE, contributing to the success of a few implementation projects - Min 2 years working with application servers, J2EE app server experience is preferred - Good working knowledge and experience of the Spring Framework - University Degree - ideally Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering 'Desirable' skills / wish List: - Experience building applications with Spring - Good understanding of the system development life cycle, including change and configuration management. - Track record of successful delivery of technical components of integration platforms and transformation projects - Experience with development on and support of J2EE Application Servers such as Glassfish, Tomcat Application Server) - Experience of messaging technologies and products including JMS and WebSphere MQ - Experience of relational database development using SQL and JDBC - Experience of scripting and build tools including shell scripting, Apache Ant and Apache Maven. - Strong background in XML including DOM, SAX, XPath and Schemas - Knowledge of non-functional considerations (scalability, availability, reliability, manageability) for complex, distributed environments. - Experience of working with version control systems e.g. Subversion - A working knowledge of file transfer protocols and configuration e.g. SFTP, FTP Highly desirable / bonus skills: - Experience with SeeBeyond ICAN/Oracle JCAPS 5.x and above. - General C# knowledge, ASP.NET MVC (Web framework) MSBuild (similar to ANT/Maven) - Experience of Banking i.e. front, middle and back office and of middleware in end-to-end trade processing within this environment.
