Oracle HCM / Payroll Technical Support Consultant - London or Manchester based Hitachi Ltd. is a global company with activities in multiple industries. Opportunity Hitachi Consulting is currently investing in its Cloud Solutions Practice which is growing rapidly in the UK and Europe. As part of this, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Oracle HCM / Payroll Consultant to join us, based in the UK. We provide 2nd and 3rd line ITIL-compliant Oracle Application support for a range of clients covering all the Oracle E-Business suite HCM modules on both Release 11i, Release 12 and SAAS Fusion instances. Responsibilities In addition to working on specific support incidents, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to work on small to medium sized development projects for our existing Cloud Solutions customer base. The work may include: - Technical design and production of associated installation documentation and technical code sets - Working within small scale implementations to address gaps through customisation for new modules or extending current footprints - Delivery of technical user training and workshops - Testing technical solutions - Assessing customers' existing customisations and advising on performance or processing improvements The role is at the Hitachi Consulting offices in London or Manchester with visits to client-site locations and other Hitachi offices as required. Background The successful candidate is likely to have several years' experience as a technical consultant working with a high proportion of the Oracle products and modules listed below. Specific experience of working in a support environment would be beneficial, although experience gained through working on implementation projects alone would be acceptable, provided the candidate has the required level of personal skills. A pragmatic approach to problem-solving is required, good attention to detail, and experience of working to deadlines. The role is customer-focused and client-facing, hence effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are very important. Whilst the role is primarily office-based, the candidate should be prepared for occasional travel, sometimes involving an overnight stay, to work on customer sites throughout the UK, and potentially overseas. Specifically, we are looking for an individual with proven expertise in the following areas: - Solid understanding of HCM and Payroll data models within E-Business Suite. - Minimum of three years' experience, either on R11i, R12 Oracle E-Business Suite, or relevant Fusion releases. - Excellent PL/SQL, SQL, Bi Publisher skills; UNIX shell scripting is desirable. - Understanding of HCM and Payroll processes and configuration. - Experience of / involvement in migration to Real Time Information. - Experience of / involvement in migration to Pension Automatic Enrolment. - Experience of developing and maintaining interfaces to / from third party systems. Experience utilising the following Oracle tools and techniques: - Oracle Payroll / HCM FastFormula - Retropay Enhanced or Retropay by Element - Ability to prioritise requests and to work well when under pressure / working to deadlines.
