Network & Security Engineer / Consultant - Permanent Location: Home Based (Southern England / Midlands) Start Date: ASAP Duration: Permanent Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance (£6,600) + 10% Bonus NST are currently recruiting for a Network & Security Consultant to work for an international IT managed service provider. Consultants will be responsible for implementing specific elements of a project and fully documenting the elements of the solution they have implemented. You will at times be required to assist Technical Support teams to provide 'next level 'problem solving and incident resolution within your field of expertise. We are looking for candidates with strong Network & Security technical backgrounds, preferably with Cisco. This will be a fully home based role, with regular travel to customer sites required. Main Duties: - Supporting the sales functions in opportunities, assisting with the writing and peer reviewing of designs and PS estimates - Review, estimate, deliver design, build, configure and document projects/ engagements for your area of expertise. - Ensure scope and goals of a project are understood including areas outside of expertise. - Deliver high quality project and design documentation. - Assist in the delivery of the solution and gain insight in other technology areas. - Communicate with the customers and vendors on all levels. - Develop commercial and management awareness. - Identify additional business opportunities. - Understand the customer's working practises and the nature of their business. - Assist with troubleshooting of issues, technical analysis, resolution of incidents, identification and reduction in problems occurring and provide support as a senior technical escalation within the organisation. - Keep up to date with Vendor and Partner news and services. - Actively work with PMO & Resource Management teams to plan timescales, identify project risks and issues. - Complete all customer documentation, for example, LLD, As Built, Change Control, Acceptance Testing etc. Qualifications: - Technical Network & Security knowledge is essential, with a proven track record in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships. - Exposure to Prince-2 & ITIL Methodology disciplines would be an advantage. - Any experience with the following skill sets would be a bonus: Security Cisco firewall application / Cisco Identity Services Engine / Advanced AAA Security for Cisco Router Networks / Virtual Private Network / Cisco Secure Access Control Server / Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance software / Cisco Wireless LAN Controller If you are interested in this position, or can recommend anyone else, please contact Artche Harrowell at NST Recruitment on ************* / ****************************
