A Quality Systems Engineer is required for a leading automotive business based in Banbury. Salary banding for the Quality Systems Engineer role is circa £45,000 per annum.

The main functions of the Quality Systems Engineer are to oversee the implementation, control and maintenance of the company quality management systems to all relevant standards.

The Quality Systems Engineer will report in to Quality Engineering Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that compliance requirements are communicated into the business and to facilitate their standardisation into the documented management system.
Manage and develop systems and process audit functions within the plant. Constantly review the process to ensure continued effectiveness and identification of improvement opportunities.

Main duties:
Maintenance of the company Quality manual
Co-ordinate 3rd party & customer 2nd party audits
Planning & management of the audit schedule
Training & presenting quality initiatives
Fault finding & problem solving techniques
Analysis of data & QOS trends
Maintenance & reporting of the corrective action system
Develop and maintain the existing QMS
Lead the transition to IATF16949
Develop and maintain the site QMS Internal Audit Plan.
Carry out internal audits in line with the internal audit plan.
Support production to proactively resolve problems
Maintain customer specific requirements
Oversee company compliance to recognised quality approval systems
Produce weekly/monthly KPI

Ideally you will hold the following qualifications
Degree level & relevant experience.
Lead auditor qualified
Microsoft Office
Clear grasp of quality management principles
ISO9001 – IATF16949
Awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental standards: ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001
Automotive core tools: PPAP, SPC, MSA, APQP, FMEA
QOS
5S
Problem solving techniques: 8D, 5 Why, is/is not, Ishikawa, Cause & Effect
Kanban / Kaizen
Managing corrective & preventative actions
Awareness of business & finance
Report writing
Auditing (1st & 2nd party)
