MERJE Ltd have been instructed to a recruit a high profile Financial Reporting Manager role for an award-winning retailer based in Warrington with plans for significant growth giving genuine opportunity for long-term career progression within a highly regarded finance team. Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting, this role would suit either a high performing 1st time mover from a big top 4 / top 10 firm or 2nd time mover looking for real scope and autonomy.

Key Financial Reporting Manager Duties:

§You’ll complete the reconciliation of key balance sheet areas, understanding and explaining significant variances. In addition, you’ll complete the group’s balance sheet budget model, providing insight on underlying trends and working capital movements.

§Prepare monthly consolidated financial accounts and reconciliations under IFRS

§Produce subsidiary financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards

§Produce monthly group consolidation and cash flow reports and working capital analysis

§You will provide associated commentaries and bringing them to life whilst keeping all key stakeholders informed.

§You will play a significant part of the year end process, being a key contact for the year-end audit and production of the statutory accounts.

§Provide technical expertise around IFRS will also form a critical part of this role and you will have a significant role in the IFRS transition project

§You’ll also assist the Tax Manager with the completion of corporate tax deliverables

§You will also provide leadership and guidance to a small team of 2

Financial Reporting Manager Profile:

§Qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) ideally from a big 4 / top 10 accountancy firm and technically proficient in IFRS accounting

§This role will also suit either a high performing 1st time mover or ideally a strong 2nd time mover from either an internal audit or similar financial accountant position ‘looking for that next step’

§You will be able to communicate with real confidence and flair across all levels and also able to influence senior stakeholders, both verbal and written

    Practical experience of group consolidations; demonstrate effective management of statutory reporting process and external auditor relationship Strong Excel and Word skills, comfortable working with large and / or complex budget models
§Driven and confident individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude
