Infrastructure Engineer / Applications / Project Management - Law Firm Infrastructure Engineer required by small, London-based law firm. Working within a team of 4, the Infrastructure Engineer will have responsibility for the day to day running and operations of the IT environment. The infrastructure has just been brought back in-house after a period of outsourcing. This role will be a technical 3rd line role for the next 12-18 months, then the infrastructure is eventually going to be outsourced again and move to IaaS. So this role after that is going to transform into more of a Business Solutions / Applications / Project Management position - so it's a key role within the department and it's a very exciting opportunity to be part of a massive project. Other responsibilities include: - VMware ESX support, installation, management and maintenance - Active Directory and group policy administration/configuration - Managing, configuring, administering and supporting remote working technologies (Citrix) - Managing server builds, upgrades and installations, and maintenance - Monitoring and fine-tuning of network applications and server performance through the use of industry standard tools Key skills required: - 3+ years' VMware support, installation and management - Cisco switching and VLANS - Active Directory and Group Policies - Exchange and SQL server - SANs, in particular NetApp This role will suit a strong, technical Infrastructure Engineer who has an open mind about the direction their career is heading and who wants to pursue new, exciting opportunities within different areas within IT (Applications, Project Management etc.).
