We are looking for a hands-on Technical Architect to take full ownership of a new start-up product within the business( Compliance / Financial Crime Technology domain ). This position requires someone with excellent hands-on coding ability coupled with high-level architecture, and you will build a team of Developers around you.

You will be designing and delivering core system components, but also identifying technical opportunities as well as R&D and prototyping areas. This is an ideal position for someone with a strong Java development background who still loves to code, but also has broader ambitions, mainly in the leadership and technical architecture areas.

As well as hands-on coding and peer reviews we expect you to have articulate opinions on best practices as well as lateral approaches to solving technical challenges. You would be expected to contribute design and architecture ideas that can deliver our objectives, and afterwards to help implement, deploy and support these solutions.

You will develop an understanding of the system as a whole, its business objectives and how users interact with it, but also a detailed understanding of all the moving parts and the impact of technical decisions at a low level.

Essential Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will prove an understanding in the following areas, at the specified levels or above:

    Senior Java and related toolset ElasticSearch or other search solutions JIRA/Confluence Caching techniques AWS (EC2, S3, Codecommit, CodeDeploy etc) DockerAkka XML and XSLT Apache Kafka REST concepts Hands-on experience in Spring / Hibernate framework Hands-on experience in RDBMS like Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL and good understanding of No-SQL database ( MongoDB etc )Good understanding of unit testing and integration testing and automated testing.Good understanding of distributed systems Good understanding of concurrency, multi-threading, asynchronous design Good understanding of dependency injection, inversion of control Good understanding of DevOps tools ( CI / CD tools & Framework )
