My client, a Professional Services outfit based in Central London, is looking for a Systems Engineer to join their growing team. About this role: This role will require an operations support specialist to define the IT requirements of the business customer, and ensure IT services meet or exceed the service level agreements. The Operations Support team will also work to address IT problems, manage changes, make updates, conduct maintenance, deliver projects, enhance operations processes, and monitor and report IT performance against required metrics. Main Responsibilities: IT Support to ensure the provision of IT devices, conduct diagnostic and resolve IT incidents and problems within EMEAA business operations. Assist with office deployment and moves within EMEAA operations. Citrix and virtualisation of both the client and server. Service Operations: * Understand the service standards and levels required by business customers in your region, especially in your primary area of responsibility. Ensure that Infrastructure service delivery teams provide fit-for-purpose services * Monitor and maintain IT service availability and performance levels in EMEAA * Work with IT colleagues to support day to day IT operations in the region, make changes and/or upgrades to maintain the following systems under change control guidance, where required * Data centre and servers * WAN and LAN, networking * XenApp / Xenserver * Active directory * Maintaining and monitoring system backups * Maintaining telephone systems * Email solutions * Systems support * Voice and data patch panel configuration * Appropriate operating system(s) including LINUX and related utility software (e.g. failover software) including patch management and involvement in defining backup and restore policies * Help ensure that disaster recovery capability exists for the region, work to maintain the DR strategy outlined by senior IT managemen * Carry out routine configuration/installation and reconfiguration of hardware and software * Support test software upgrades and complete software upgrades as instructed * Providing support for Blackberries and maintaining antivirus IT Problem Management: * Work with the regional Incident Management / Service Desk team to provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for hardware and software issues * Highlight issues and propose solutions to the IT Operations Manager * Liaise with helpdesk / service support team members when incidents are raised * Liaison with third-party hardware support contractors and/or manufacturers as needed to escalate hardware-related incidents. Vendor & Relationship Managemen * Input to / assist in software & hardware purchases, as advise * Maintain effective working relationships with local business staff * Maintain effective working relationships with IT staff in the region Knowledge & Skills: Core Skills * Customer Focus * Responsible, prepared to own' challenging issues and problems seeing them through to resolution * Strong listening, communication and presentation skills * Can do' attitude * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesSpecialist / Required Knowledg * Strong knowledge of the following * Citrix CCA, Microsoft & LINUX operating systems / advanced networking / Office suite, packaging, deployment & scriptin * Competences - Citrix XenApp, Windows 2003/8 server, Understanding of ITIL fundamental * Office 365 Suit * MS Windows XP/7/10 Professiona * MS Windows 2000/2003/2008/2012 Server (user level administration * MS Exchange 2010 Server including Mimecast (mailbox level administration * MS Office XP/2003/2007/2010/201 * Cloud technologies (AWS * Knowledge of VMWare & Azur * Voice and Data patchin * Network Switchin * Knowledge of WAN/LAN technology including TCP/IP, VoIP, Mitel * Monitoring tools such as (but not limited to) Nagios, CopperEgg, AppDynamics, Splunk, NCC Desirable Knowledge: * Industry certifications desirable but not required, eg.
