Job Title -Functional Analyst - Trading Solutions Reports to -Senior Business Systems Analyst - Trading Solutions Location Paddington JOB PURPOSE This role will be responsible for providing technical support of the mission critical trading applications, ensuring the service is meeting expectations and where necessary working closely with the business providing technical understanding and leadership. As such this role is an essential technical role acting as an escalation point for technical support and subject matter guidance for new enhancements. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - Ensure the technical integrity of the end to end solution, providing on going technical and configuration management for the technical components that comprise the Openlink Endur service. - Work with business users, service providers and JM teams to plan, manage and execute the maintenance roadmap - service and enhancement packs, and essential maintenance releases. - Provide technical support for the Endur trading solution including application components, database management and configuration management of all technical environments. - Act as the trusted technical authority regarding the Endur technical solution: managing SVN code, job management and monitoring, data archiving and retrieval, and integration with other 3rd party products (e.g. Bloomberg, Reuters) - System troubleshooting and problem solving together with third party suppliers and other BIS resolving groups. - Together with third party suppliers and other BIS teams, ensure the integrity of the technical design, ensuring capacity, availability, system access, monitoring and control mechanisms are in place - Communicate issues and escalate appropriately to software developers and analysts for resolution - To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed. - Ensure that at all times company Policies, Standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are adhered to. - As a member of the global BIS community, you will be a champion of the function's values and culture while demonstrating and openly encouraging the behaviours expected from a professional, best in-class IT team. ORGANISATION STRUCTURE (including Reporting Lines) SCOPE - The role holder will interact with senior IT and business leaders within the organisation as well as other BIS teams - The role holder will deal with technology partners and suppliers SPECIAL FACTORS - Group BIS consists of geographically dispersed teams and, therefore, all roles include working with remote and cross-cultural teams - National/International travel as required in order to fulfil the requirements of the role - This role will be required to participate in the Major Incident Management process which may mean out of hours' participation in incident resolution and service restoration - An extensive working relationship with the Royston based Trading team means that travel to Royston will required at times - The role holder must be flexible to travel and work out of office hours from time to time PERSON SPECIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE Deep functional and technical knowledge of the Endur platform built up from project implementations, service support and Version 9.x versions upgrades within highly customized environments Essential Experience of working with global trading communities modelling and documenting business processes Essential Proven experience in developing custom screens, reports, core trading functionality and interfaces/integration tooling Essential Strong Technical skills, including ability to query databases, perform system audits, monitor performance and provide solutions to optimize services Essential Experience in gathering functional requirements from business users and communicating the requirements to the development team (in the form of a build specification) Essential Experience in performing Functional and non-Functional testing in support to defect resolution Essential Experience in facilitating and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and providing support during go live transition periods Essential Proven experience in the planning, delivery and support of strategic software deployments and tactical fixes Desirable Experience in the management of third party vendors including communication of issues, diagnosis and issue resolution Desirable Experience in supporting the data migration processes and support activities of a multi-site implementation Desirable Detailed knowledge and experience of Commodities Finance back and middle office functions Desirable PERSONAL SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES Authenticity Gaining other people's trust by demonstrating openness and honesty, behaving consistently, and acting in accordance with moral, ethical, professional, and organizational guidelines.
