Fixed Asset Accountant based in south Manchester
Your new company
I am currently recruiting for an expanding housing association based in south Manchester. Due to a recent restructure following the expansion, they are looking to recruit a fixed asset accountant. My client has a huge presence across the North West within the housing sector and are renowned for offering career opportunity & fantastic company benefits. The role will initially be a 6 month contract with a view to going permanent.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the head of finance, you will take full responsibility for updating the fixed asset register, recording all the cost of newly acquired fixed assets & maintain the existing assets whilst also recording the depreciation & accounting for the disposal of fixed assets. The role will require you to work closely with the head of finance & other department heads therefore you must have strong communication skills & a track record of building relationships. You will also take ownership of assessing the impact on the budget depreciation for the current financial year as well as reconciling all assets to the fixed asset accounts in the finance ledgers.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate must have previous experience of maintaining & reconciling fixed asset registers, You will be confident with communicating with internal staff as part of the role will involve unpicking historic data. You will be happy to work independently & use initiative to proactively achieve objectives. Working experience within the housing sector will be desirable but not essential. You must also have strong excel skills up to V look up level.
