MERJE Ltd have been instructed to recruit an exciting and operationally focused Financial Cost Controller role for a market leading business based in Greater Manchester.

Our client is looking to recruit a dynamic career minded qualified senior accountant who has an extensive background in ‘Cost Accounting’ and ‘Project Costing’ who will be the ‘go to’ person from a Commercial and Operational perspective and will work closely with the senior leadership team whilst reporting into the Managing Director. The Financial Cost Controller will ensure that the management team has full visibility and understanding of the financial performance of the business whilst playing a key role in all financial and commercial decisions.

Financial Cost Controller duties:

·Work with the budget holders across the business to develop a robust overview of the business for the annual budgeting process, updating as required for the quarterly group forecasts.

·Develop and maintain the rolling cash flow forecast and manage the working capital for the business

    Prepare annual budgets and periodic updates to support updates for external parties
·Maintain a forecast model which provides a regular review of progress against targets.

·Monitor and challenge the factory costs, analysing product costs and produce activity based costing as required

·Monitor and challenge the construction costs including, productive time bookings, cost recoveries across the business and challenge the hours booked across the business.

    Support ad-hoc projects when they arise and liaise with internal audit function and resolve any issues identified

Financial Cost Controller Profile:

·You will be a CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified with a minimum of 3-5 years’ post qualification experience operating in a similar Operational Accounting or Project / Contract Accounting role looking for the next step / greater exposure

·Strong experience of commercial reporting and forecasting a range of projects

·Ideally possess excellence working knowledge of cost accounting including; product costing, activity based costing, contract hours costing

·Possess good academics and be pro-active in your approach, willing to challenge existing processes / controls

·Commercially and analytically minded as this role will support all commercial analysis activity and will business partner across the business

·Great attention to detail with strong interpersonal skills whilst having excellent communication skills across all levels with an ability to influence decisions and challenge where necessary.

·Highly organised, diligent and structured individual with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
