My client is currently recruiting for an Assistant Finance Manager. This role will be key to providing vital support to the site management, enabling the day to day performance understanding within this strategic site.

International company based in North West London.


Key Responsibilities

  • Business partner to site cost centre managers, supporting them in overheads management
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in budget / quarterly forecasting processes
  • Standard product costing ownership including financial support for the development of new products
  • Supporting and liaising with project leads regarding capital reporting and forecasting
  • Site prime and overhead performance analysis and period-end reporting
  • Ensuring robust financial control through maintaining the site asset register, being responsible for timely capitalisation, disposal, asset verification and the periodic balance sheet reconciliation review
  • Reviewing Standard Operating Procedure standardisation
  • Supervision and support of the offshore team, including development training and acting as the first point of contact
  • Deputise as required for the Finance Manager
  • Ensuring that decisions and financial plans are formulated on a sound commercial and financial basis
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and group accounting procedures, highlighting areas of concern as appropriate and taking corrective action
  • Coaching the Site operational team on financial matters
  • Supporting the other site finance roles as and when required


Essential Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Recently qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA, or strong experience in a finance environment
  • Previous experience in an FMCG / manufacturing finance role is desirable
  • Costing experience is desirable
  • Experience in another organisation across financial reporting and control
  • Previous experience of an ERP system (SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
  • Strong analytic skills to provide robust and insightful financial analysis, including planning and forecasting and the a desire to challenge.
  • Experience of Financial Analysis / modelling / investment appraisal techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to make financial analysis easily understood
  • Ability to plan effectively and work to deadlines under own initiative
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and equivalent Google programs
  • The desire to challenge the status quo
