My client a large business services company based near Cardiff is looking for a Finance Manager to join its rapidly growing company

Our client is a large business services company based near Cardiff


You will be responsible for managing a team of 15 staff to deliver a broad range of financial support to the manufacturing site in the UK, plus the Head Office function. As a senior manager, you will manage the relationship with the Financial Planning & Control Manager, ensuring that your team provide a high quality service to its stakeholders, whilst at the same time achieving the deadlines set by both the Division and wider Group. You will be actively involved in driving continuous improvement both within your own team and the wider department in the pursuit of world class performance.

Key Accountabilities

Deliver accurate and timely management accounts (P&L, B/S, KPI's) to site management teams, Head Office and Group in line with set deadlines

Ensure that corporate governance standards are clear and maintained for each site through a process of ongoing balance sheet reviews and a strong control environment

Deliver routine and ad-hoc analysis, as requested by site operations, Finance Business Partners, Division and Group

Co-ordinate with Group Tax and Group financial accounting to ensure compliance reporting deadlines are met. (VAT, Corporation Tax, VAT etc)

Drive reporting quality through process improvement and culture of peer review

As a senior manager, help drive continuous improvement initiatives across the broader department, working with cross functional teams to deliver

Develop and mentor the team to achieve targets and simultaneously improve quality.

Help to clearly define career progression routes and satisfy succession planning requirements through development and training of staff

Deliver team objectives through effective use of Performance Development Plans / Reviews.


Fully Qualified Accountant

Up to date technical knowledge with experience of Divisional/Group reporting

Experience using ERP accounting systems, preferably SAP. Use of Hyperion would be an advantage.

Experience of Operational/Manufacturing environment and reporting requirements

Experience of large international organisation

Track record of providing accounting/reporting services

Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences

Experience of managing a team

Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment

Knowledge of accounting standards (UK GAAP and IFRS) and MS Office suite, in particular Excel

Job Offer

Upto £45,000 plus excellent benefits
