Baltic Training and Thorp Academy are excited to be working in partnership to recruit an IT Support Apprentice to join a team of experts based in Ryton! As part of the Northern Education Trust, Thorp Academy have a long history dating back to 1861 and they are now looking for an eager to learn IT Support Apprentice to gain valuable work-experience whilst working towards industry led training!

You will be working alongside existing staff and be mentored and trained to carry out the following duties:

  • Provide technical support for teachers and students
  • Troubleshooting issues within the school networks
  • Assisting with the refurbishment of computers and laptops
  • General IT Maintenance

Training to be provided:

  • Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in ICT
  • Level 3 Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
  • CompTIA A+
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Cloud Services and Disaster Recovery
  • Coding and Logic
  • Level 2 Functional Skills (Literacy, Numeracy and ICT)

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Keenness to learn and develop within the role
  • Experience of troubleshooting & good working knowledge of hardware
  • Passion for IT.
  • Excellent communication skills

The future is bright
Upon completion of the 12 month programme, there are real progression opportunities available. Along with your employer, you may decide to progress onto our level 4 programme and take your training even further.

Salary, hours and benefits:

  • £150.00 per week
  • Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Location and Travel:

This role is located in Ryton and is easily accessible via the local bus stations.
