AWS Cloud Architect: A Cloud Centre of Excellence Specialist delivers a portfolio of activities within our Cloud Competency Centre which is responsible for commissioning of applications in the Cloud. To perform this role the CCoE Specialist will support the CCoE Senior Manager to provide technical expertise to the application and infrastructure teams, in order to facilitate the smooth commissioning and transfer of existing applications into the Cloud. He or she will work within the CoE which will understand best practice for running in ABC' cloud and can provide expertise to other teams. This role will also support the need to ensure that ABC has the right vision, strategy for our Cloud platform and works with our cloud suppliers to ensure that we have the right technology at the most cost effective to support our ambitions, ensuring hosting services are continually available to ABC at the best possible unit price and influencing the adoption and consumption of those services to deliver required performance and availability at lowest possible cost. To maintain a clear roadmap for the development and retirement of services. PURPOSE AND CONTEXT OF THE ROLE To lead technology direction for ABC. The team operate as highly visible owners of technology areas, responsible for developing, agreeing and executing direction. Accountable for providing strategic context, direction, roadmaps and standards, the role is instrumental in the successful delivery of IT solutions, aligned to ABC's IT strategy. The individual will comfortable working with a range of senior stakeholders from ABC and partner organisations the Enterprise Architect will contribute towards the sharing of knowledge, decisions, patterns and lessons learnt to improve productivity and enhance capability. ROLE DIMENSION An experienced Enterprise Architect to join the Strategy and Architecture team to lead Cloud technology direction for ABC. The team operate as highly visible owners of technology areas, responsible for developing, agreeing and executing direction. This role is focused on working across ABC Group and UK to ensure that we design a digital service-based architecture from customer interaction technology through to our existing core systems. This target needs to be delivered using modern technology practices such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. Members of the Strategy and Architecture team are tasked as individuals in bringing the right thought leadership to ABC, to develop designs, strategies and technology targets that offer the most value and benefit to the organisation. ACCOUNTABILITIES / OUTPUTS Accountable for providing strategic context, direction, roadmaps and standards, the role is instrumental in the successful delivery of IT solutions, aligned to ABC's IT strategy. - Experience as a strong Cloud architect, working for a large-scale organization that has gone through the Cloud journey - Has a strong understanding of the technology infrastructure elements that are needed to build a successful cloud platform - Is familiar and has worked hands-on directly with one of large cloud providers apis and services - Has worked closely with engineering communities and understandings of the benefits Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment techniques - Has transformed a traditional organization to a 'platform' style architecture for flexible business models particularly around Digital and Cloud - Technology leader with experience of working with a patterns-based service architecture approach - Experience of work extensively to modernize legacy systems enable modern business models - Technical competency in security, cloud and application technology - Experience of Agile working and fail fast methods to define design architectures KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS The individual will comfortable working with a range of senior stakeholders from ABC and partner organisations. As well as the technical role the Enterprise Architect will be expected to be an active part of the community and contribute towards the sharing of knowledge, decisions, patterns and lessons learnt to improve productivity and enhance capability. QUALIFICATIONS - Graduate or equivalent. - Enterprise Architecture and IT qualifications an advantage although not essential. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE - Deep understanding of relevant technical areas - A broad understanding of markets, industries, customers and technologies. - Sound business knowledge and commercial awareness, both generally and specific to financial services. - Extensive communications and relationship management skills. - Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. - Knowledge and active use of industry frameworks and tools (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, Abacus, etc.) EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 7 years related business and IT experience - A proven record of leading and delivering high quality IT Change and business value at a senior / executive level - A background in business and technology consulting across the lifecycle of Information Technology
