Technical Support Analyst - VMWare - 2nd/3rd Line - Insurance - City, London. Joining this global Insurance company based in the City of London as a Technical Support Analyst you will undertake 2nd and 3rd line IT support services that are delivered within agreed Service Levels. Key responsibilities: - To undertake 2nd & 3rd Line problem solving infrastructure administration tasks, including proactive checks and problem identification (recurring issues). - Identify service improvements through process changes, new systems or equipment to reduce incidents and improve the customer experience. - Undertake infrastructure changes in accordance with the Change Management processes including timely user communication. - Undertake capacity planning and management using network and system monitoring tools. Present data showing trends and make recommendations on a quarterly basis. - Provide guidance to junior members of the IT department. Skills required: - Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2, Windows 7/8 - Microsoft office suite - Active Directory/MS Exchange - Email security products, eg Mimecast/MessageLabs - Server and desktop virtualisation, preferably VMware - Networking knowledge covering LAN/VLAN and WAN technologies - Server and SAN Hardware - Desktops and Notebooks - HP Switch technology - Firewall and Secure Remote Access appliances - Background in the Insurance/Financial Services industry highly desirable This role will also involve Out of Hours support. This required the technician to be on-call 1 week a month 24 x 7 from Monday to Sunday. Out of Hours working is limit to break fix support for incidents affecting the business outside of the core UK business hours (8am to 6pm) The Contract will be for an initial 3 Month period.
