Senior Web Development Engineer Altium Associates is working with an exciting SME which is looking for a Web Development Software Engineer with experience of both front end UI development and back end APIs. Working as part of a small team, you will be developing and maintaining front-end and back-end software features for the company's products/appliances in line with product development roadmap Required skills & experience: - Specification, design, development and maintenance of advanced user facing features and back-end APIs for complex realtime and systems. - Database design in collaboration with other team members. - Conducting code reviews as per the company standards. - Active participation in the team's Agile (SCRUM) development process and other company-wide processes. - Engage in effective collaboration among geographically distributed team members. - Extensive experience in application software development using Ruby, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. - Good understanding of libraries, frameworks and tools such as Rails, Sinatra, DataMapper, RSpec, PrototypeJS. - Good understanding of aync requests handling, partial page updates and AJAX. - Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues. - Experience developing against relational databases. In particular, exposure to PostgreSQL is handy. - Experience developing on Linux based environments is handy. - Exposure to general scripting languages such as Python, Linux shell scripting is handy. - Familiarity with TDD, CI tools and issue tracking tools. In particular, exposure to Jenkins, Redmine is handy. - Familiarity with version/release control is required.
