Background to the role and the teamThe tax landscape is changing. Fiscal deficits around the world have led to increased scrutiny of taxes paid by large corporations, and civil society organizations are running high profile campaigns using new media to put out their messages. One response to this increased scrutiny is the requirement for companies to report tax on a ‘country-by-country’ basis and companies are responding to the increased scrutiny with more extensive voluntary tax disclosures. There is more tax data in the public domain than ever before and the Tax Transparency & TTC team works with both companies and governments in this exciting and rapidly changing area.
