About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity in our Information Technology team for a Retail Application Services Team Leader to lead a customer focused team delivering excellent first class retail application support to over 730 BHF stores and Retail Head Office functions, and manage the Retail Application Services support team in all BAU service provision.

Working within the ITIL framework you will drive the continued improvement of services to ensure agreed SLA's are adhered to, ensuring appropriate licenses are in place to deliver effective support without any adverse impact of supplier lead times or unplanned outages.

Acting as an escalation point for others within the team and the wider IT service team you will provide knowledge and insight to encourage others to learn, develop and provide service excellence, supporting the Business Application Services Manager in account management, supplier performance analysis and some budget management.

About you

The successful candidate will have ITIL knowledge and experience (formal certification preferred) alongside strong technical knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft operating systems (desktop and server), Active Directory Administration, LAN/WAN/VPN, WiFi, MS Office suite of Applications (2010 and above) and Monitoring Tools.

With experience of retail application support as well as previous experience of leading and managing a team you will have excellent communication and team building skills. You'll also have the ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the country.

You'll have experience of working in and managing a team of multi skilled/multi levelled staff, supporting remote sites. With strong attention to detail you'll coordinate the working of the team and be able to triage and diagnose end user issues efficiently, remaining calm under pressure and focused on tasks.

This role provides a great opportunity to team lead a motivated, busy and business critical Application Services Retail team.

For 1 weekend in 4, the successful candidate will provide escalation services to the IT service desk on all Retail application issues.
