We are looking for a Senior Developer to join our award-winning technology team. Successful candidates will be join our team responsible for the rollout and ongoing development of our new Content Management System (CMS), using CoreMedia. The foundations of our business have been built upon a unique blend of content and commerce and, as part of this team, you will be faced with fresh challenges and opportunities to ensure we continue to differentiate in this area.

CoreMedia is a Java-based CMS Product that makes use of libraries from the Spring Framework (including Spring MVC), and work will involve a range of activities from API development to the development of user interfaces and tooling for our users. We have industry experts on-site helping us to put some foundations of our new CMS in place, and we are looking for people who would like the opportunity to join us, to learn quickly, and to help us build our team.

This team will be accountable for all aspects of software delivery, from development through to support, and will be responsible for ensuring the quality of their deliverables. To help the team deliver solutions that scale, we’ll also look to develop the team’s understanding of the system’s infrastructure, and the technologies (e.g. AWS) and tools used to provision it. In this role you will be expected to demonstrate technical leadership skills by driving the direction of these projects, ensuring the team are working collaboratively to the same goal.

Skills and experience:

Candidates should have:

    Extensive professional experience developing in JavaExtensive experience using Spring Core and Spring MVCExperience applying testing practices such as Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)Experience working in agile teams including experience with XP practices such as Pair ProgramingGood communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyExperience mentoring and coaching othersExperience with monitoring tools and technologiesExperience measuring systems to prove key KPIs (e.g. performance)An understanding of environments and deployment processes, including
    Application servers (e.g. Tomcat)Configuration Management Tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet)Build and Deployment Tools (e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity)
An understanding of the tools available on AWS The following would also be desirable:
