Information about the school

St. George’s (VC) CE Primary School is surrounded by beautiful countryside in a thriving village community.

The school is noted for its friendly, caring atmosphere, enthusiastic pupils, experienced and dedicated staff, supportive parents and governors.

We are a delightful multi-cultural school where all the children are positive and happy to be here. We aim to give our children a very positive start to their school career in a caring and nurturing environment.

Pupils feel safe and well cared for. The school does outstandingly well in providing support and encouragement for the most vulnerable pupils.

In March 2008 Ofsted described the school as being “an Outstanding School ........ where smiling is important” and “a school where pupils achieve exceptionally well to reach above average standards by the time they leave in Year 6.”

In March 2011 Ofsted carried out an interim assessment with this judgement again being given to the school.

In December 2012 the school received its third Outstanding SIAS Inspection grading.

St George's (VC) CE Primary school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
