Learning Support and Welfare Advisor

The Role

To develop and coordinate the learning support and disability provision, to widen participation, increase accessibility and deliver excellent student experience.

Key Tasks

The post holder will

    To support and coordinate the team of Additional Learning Support staff including agency supportTo ensure UCFB delivers a comprehensive service of Additional Learning Support which complies with UCFB policy, student entitlement, EFA guidelines and statutory requirementsTo provide effective and coherent operational management of the college’s additional learning support programme in order to effectively breakdown barriers to individual achievementTo be responsible with the Student Services Manager for setting, monitoring and reporting on appropriate quality standards for the Additional Learning Support areaTo be responsible for ensuring that the initial assessment of Additional Learning Support needs is comprehensive, timely and rigorousTo liaise with external agencies and partners to ensure the smooth transition of students from college to UCFB, and for graduates onto the next stage of their developmentTo develop and maintain an appropriately robust system of measuring the impact of Additional Learning Support services which meets internal and external audit and inspection requirementsTo establish and maintain effective liaison with the IT services function to ensure that data on Additional Learning Support services is accurate, auditable and compliant with quality guidelinesTo ensure that Additional Learning Support provision is cost effective and commensurate with UCFB’s allocationTo ensure that support services are available to learners at the point of demand and in appropriately personalised formats
Working hours: Working hours normally 8.30 – 5pm but may require flexibility to support students at peak times.
