Coram, the UK’s first children’s charity and outstanding adoption agency, has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic Communications Manager, passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children, to join our busy, high achieving and friendly team.

Coram has been helping vulnerable children for over 275 years. We help children and young people develop their skills and emotional health, find adoptive parents, support agencies and practitioners working with children in care, and uphold children’s rights.

You will join Coram at an exciting time. Our profile, on and off-line, is at an all-time high and communications is essential to the success of the group’s vision and strategy.

You will be working as part of a busy and successful team, raising awareness and profile of the work of members of the Coram Group.

To be successful in this role, you will share our commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children. With an understanding of the power of media coverage in driving our social and commercial objectives, you will have a strong news sense and a successful track record in identifying and placing stories for press and broadcast media.

You will also possess strong writing skills and a sound understanding of the power of digital platforms in amplifying media coverage and experience of media evaluation. As well as the ability to handle calls from the media with confidence, you will have knowledge of the news and policy agenda appertaining to children and families.
