NHBC has an exciting opportunity for a PC Support Analyst to join the team based in Milton Keynes. You will be on a full time permanent contract, with a highly competitive salary of £26,000 - £29,000 per annum. Provide second line support for IT Hardware and software. As well as flexible cover for the first line service desk. About the PC Support Analyst role You will work in the PC Support Team. The main responsibility is the support of client computing devices e.g. smart phones, desktop PCs, laptops, thin clients, tough pads and other IT peripherals. It will be necessary to manage and prioritise the handling of all service tickets on the role-holder's queue to ensure that customers are kept informed and solutions provided within all relevant OLA and SLA targets. For each service ticket the role-holder must analyse, gather additional information from the customer if required, find an appropriate and effective solution (i.e. a workaround or a permanent fix) to restore service to the customer and at all times ensure that the customer is kept informed on progress. Working very closely with the IT Service Desk you will provide standby cover for the service desk when incoming call demand exceeds the number of service desk staff available (handled via overflow call centre features). You may also be required to work full shifts on the service desk e.g. to aid skills transfer to service desk staff or to provide cover for holidays or sickness absence in the service desk. Such full-shift assignments will not exceed 25% of the work time of any individual PC Support Analyst in any three month period. You will be required to travel occasionally to other UK locations (typically other NHBC offices but visits to other locations including home offices of NHBC home workers are also possible). Overnight stays may be required for such travel. Work outside standard NHBC office hours, including weekends, may be required. As much notice as possible will be given for such work assignments but occasionally it is possible such work may be assigned at short notice. Overtime or time-in-lieu will be granted for such work according to the current overtime policy. Our ideal PC Support Analyst You will have experience of installation and configuration of Windows 7/8.1/10 Enterprise as well as PC and Network fault investigation in TCP/IP, Ethernet, CAT 5e/6 structured cabling environment. You will have worked in an SLA/OLA environment and be used to the pressures and demands this brings. Previous experience of configuring and supporting Active Directory will be essential. Excellent communication skills along with the ability to listen effectively will be second nature to you. A relevant professional qualification such as MCDST, MCP, MCSE,CompTIA A+ /Network + or ITIL Foundation would be advantageous. Other experience that would be desirable includes Configuration and support of VMWare Horizon view clients, basic SQL skills, configuration and deployment of Windows updates. Supporting and monitoring Avaya Telephone systems as well as fault monitoring of network hardware and servers would also be advantageous. Experience with System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) would be highly desirable.
