Clinical Computing Lead (Software Engineer)

AfC Band 7 (£32,013 - £42,205) 37.5 hrs p.w.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Engineering and Non-Ionising Radiations Section of NHS Lothian Medical Physics Department. As Clinical Computing Lead you will play a key role in providing clinical computing support to a wide range of services, including the Lothian Osteoporosis Service, Respiratory Medicine, the Scottish Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service, Radiology, Vascular Laboratory and Medical Physics.

You will be qualified to degree level and will have a proven track record in software engineering, including a range of platforms and applications, device interfacing, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience of quality management is desirable. Your responsibilities include managing a small team of staff in developing and maintaining clinical database applications, image analysis software, and the acquisition of data from clinical instrumentation. You will liaise closely with eHealth for networked clinical systems. In addition to your routine duties this post offers excellent opportunities to take part in research and development and to play a role in the delivery of new services.
