Junior IT Technician £16-22K dependent on experience 5 minutes from M1 Junction 34 and on a public transport route The Company: Our client is one of South Yorkshire's leading IT and telecoms solutions companies with a fantastic reputation for delivering an exemplary service to organisations large and small. They are experiencing continual growth and as a result are expanding their team yet again and need a professional and motivated IT technician to supply office based support to a variety of end users, minimal experience is accepted as full training will be given. The Roles: The Field based IT Technician will: offer on-site desktop support for customers in the South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire area, dealing with PC's, Laptops and other hardware products, as well dealing with software and server issues (full training on servers will be given). The Office based IT Technician will: work as part of a team from a workbench at our clients premises in Sheffield, working on new PC/Server builds, installing software and such like as well as doing fault diagnostics and repairs; full training on server builds will be given. Key Responsibilities: - PC / Server Build, fault diagnosis & Repair - To interact face to face, via telephone and email with customers - Passing information to both customers and internal account managers - Provide excellent service to end users and set expectations based on agreed processes. - To manage all service requests to agreed resolution times. - To 'own' end user issues through to resolution and recognise when to escalate. - Keep Helpdesk software updated with all developments at all times. Skills Required: - Excellent written and spoken communication skills are essential - Have Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8 & 10) - Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 and above - Have knowledge of Windows Server - Knowledge of network technology - Ability to carry out PC software & Hardware diagnostics and repairs. - Knowledge and experience of Service software - Server hardware and Software knowledge an advantage Additional information: - Van provided for field based role - Westfield Healthcare and Contributory Pension Scheme - Modern offices, with shower and kitchen facilities plus work incentives and a supportive and down to earth management team Please note that due to the large number of applications we receive we are unable to respond to all unsuccessful applications.
