Head of Operational Risk & Framework We have a great opportunity to join our Enterprise Risk function here at Direct Line Group as our Head of Operational Risk & Framework on a permanent basis based from our head office in Bromley. The Group's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Strategy underpins its approach to setting risk appetite and establishing appropriate risk management practices and procedures. The aim of the ERM Strategy is to ensure risk management within the Group is a forward-looking activity, focused on facilitating appropriate and fair outcomes and maintaining the reputation of the Group on a consistent and reliable basis. You will lead the Operational Risk & Framework team on behalf of Direct Line Insurance Group ("DLG"), ensuring a strong risk framework is well embedded within the business and providing robust challenge over the risk profile. What being the Head of Operational Risk & Framework involves - Lead relationships with the business providing oversight, guidance and challenge to business activity in relation to all operational risk matters. - Work closely with the business to provide advice to enable effective risk management in a fast paced, changing environment. - Work closely with other teams in the Risk & Compliance function to ensure an aligned approach to interactions with business areas. - Regularly update elements of the risk framework to ensure it remains relevant, pragmatic and clear. - Ensure that the risk framework is well embedded across the business to ensure transparency of risks, issues and events. - Lead an annual review of risk behaviours and attitudes developing actions and recommendations to key business stakeholders. - Lead key risk processes including the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment, Group Risk Register and annual control attestation. - Maintain effective working relationship across all three lines of defence and continually enhance the perception of Risk & Compliance's value to the business. - Promote a strong control culture and general awareness of risk management across the business. - Recruit, lead and develop the team to consistently deliver both a challenging and value adding role. - Facilitate the running of the Operational Risk Committee ensuring delivery of strong papers which address key areas of risk and ensure good levels of debate from members. - Regularly contribute papers and commentary to governance committees ensuring the operational risk profile is clearly reported and understood. Skills we are looking for - Strong Enterprise Risk Management knowledge and practical experience. - Ability to create and maintain effective relationships across all lines of defence. - Excellent stakeholder management at all levels. - Strong influencing skills, driving a positive impact on the organisation ensuring risk is well understood. - Understanding of structure, strategy and activity across the Group.
