EO is working exclusively with an early stage, high growth international renewable energy company based in central London. We are looking for a technically senior group accountant for a 6-month contract to join a small team and work closely with the group financial controller to develop group reporting and external reporting into consistent, well managed processes that are ready to support the business as it moves to the next level of growth. Responsibilities - Lead and perform group accounting actions in the month-end cycle. - Consolidation of subsidiaries, group journals, eliminations, meeting timetabled deadlines. - Lead development of quality of group accounting and consolidation. - Lead technical accounting issues: changes in group structure, project accounting etc. - Ensure data integrity of reported data. Lead reconciliation process. - Own group reporting calendar: co-ordinate inputs to ensure month-end deadlines met. - Support the group financial controller in analysis of trends and variances and in co-ordination and management of reporting entities worldwide. - Develop standardised group reporting templates and analysis tools alongside the systems development project. Participate in merging group reporting data with data and reports in the accounting system as the systems development project nears completion. - Prepare external reporting financial statements under IFRS: - Annual financial statements for subsidiary entities in 5 jurisdictions - Provide technical accounting leadership to other accountants in the group and support the group financial controller on accounting matters as commercial, structural changes arise. - Lead detailed interaction with auditors. Person required - 5 years post qualified accountant ACA - Significant experience of group accounting in complex international groups. Knowledge of accounting for international groups, group restructurings, associates/JV's acquisitions accounting essential. Evidence of leading and resolving complex accounting problems. - Strong record of preparing a variety of IFRS financial statements through to audit completion. Some experience of preparing group financial statements would be an advantage. Thorough and current knowledge of IFRS. - Excellent academics, able to learn quickly, and understand and resolve complex issues. - Versatility to adapt to changing requirements and learn quickly in a rapidly changing business. - Excellent attention to detail, able to produce tidy, reliable, well presented analysis, reporting information. - Excellent communication skills: able to liaise with auditors, finance team members and senior management globally.
