Job Title: Flooring Branch Manager Location: Cambridge Job Sector: Flooring Job Type: Permanent Salary: Up to £40,000 p.a + bonus + car Job Reference: SS/J019389 One of the UK's largest flooring distributor's supplying floor coverings and accessories to both residential and commercial sectors. Their massive stock range enables them to provide an unprecedented next-day nationwide delivery service for their customers. About the Role: Based in Cambridge and working alongside the branch management & senior management teams, you will be required to develop and implement a cohesive business strategy for the site; establishing annual budgets and objectives which are ambitious, realistic, focused and credible whilst reflecting market potential of the branch area. The role will be varied and more specific duties will include; - Work closely with all members of the branch team in order to establish and maintain the highest level of customer service - Work closely with brands to maintain specialisation within site - Lead, manage, mentor and motivate all team members - Recruit, develop, retain, reward and recognise the achievements of talented Managers, Supervisors and staff members - Create and maintain a culture within the branch which generates profit whilst recognising and promoting the importance of health & safety and environmentally responsible behaviours to the highest standard - Take responsibility for the delivery of sales and profit growth and ensure the achievement of high performance levels from all areas of the branch in relation to agreed budgets, financial and business targets/objectives/KPI's - Set direction for sales activities within the geographical remit, recognising and accessing new markets or new product areas and maintaining long - term profitability by tracking, anticipating and remaining ahead of competitors - Set direction for warehouse, logistics and transport activities within the business, ensuring the implementation of best practice techniques in order to minimise cost and maximise profit - Support with the direction for buying policy and stock levels within the business - ensuring products can be sourced at optimum levels in order to achieve maximum profitability - Personally manage relationships with key customers and suppliers - Manage and work closely with external sales staff, ensuring they are targeted and directed towards new business support - Monitor competitor activity and develop local strategy Key Skills/Experience Required: In order to be considered for the role of Branch Manager, you must possess the following; - Significant managerial experience gained within an operations/sales function - Proven leadership skills with the ability to articulate corporate vision and translate that into effective strategic and operational plans - Strong commercial skills supported by a pragmatic approach - The ability to operate and influence successfully at all levels of an organisation - Strong background knowledge of the key principles and techniques involved in selling, purchasing, logistics, stock management and general management - Good business acumen - Experience of managing significant cross functional change projects with proven ability to manage conflicting priorities and the ability to work to tight deadlines - Experience of integration of acquisitions - Superior customer focus - Strong analytical skills Salary/Benefits Information: Basic salary is up to £40,000 p.a (DOE) 20% bonus Company car Pension Health care Footnote If your application is successful we will contact you to discuss the opportunity in more detail, within 48 hours of receiving your application.
